Permission Requirements
To configure SMS settings, you must have the Workspace:Settings:Manage permission.
The SMS Settings page allows you to configure your SMS provider and map message templates for critical alerts, marketing, or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) codes.
Key Features & Configuration
1. Service Provider
- Select Provider: Choose your active SMS gateway provider (e.g., Verimor).
- Prerequisite: Just like email, the SMS provider must first be integrated and authenticated via the Integrations module before it can be selected here.
2. Message Templates
To standardize outgoing messages, you link system events to specific template IDs provided by your SMS gateway:
- Merchant Templates: Automated texts sent to sellers (e.g., new order alerts, payout notifications).
- User Templates: Automated texts sent to end-users (e.g., phone verification codes, delivery updates).
[!TIP] Cost Control: SMS messaging carries a per-message cost. Only assign templates to critical alerts (like OTPs or shipping dispatches) to manage your operational expenses effectively.
Common Issues
- Issue: Phone verification codes are not being delivered.
- Solution: First, verify that the SMS Service Provider is selected. Second, ensure that the exact Template ID for the OTP/Verification message is correctly inputted under the "User Templates" section. Finally, check the Global Notification settings to ensure the SMS channel is active.
