Permission and Plan Requirements

To use this feature, you must have the Workspace:Settings:View permission and the TICKETING, EVENTS plan.

Event Settings govern event sales, organizer approvals, session limits, and commission configurations. This is critical for maintaining the operational structure of ticketed events, tours, or classes on your platform.

Key Features & Configuration​

1. General Event Settings​

  • Global Sales Status (isEventSalesEnabled): Toggles the ability to sell tickets or registrations for events globally.
  • Organizer Approval (requireApproval): If enabled, new events created by organizers require admin approval before going live.
  • Max Events Per Organizer: Limits the total number of events an organizer can host.
  • Smart Banner (useBannerAsFeaturedImage): Automatically uses the event banner as the featured cover image if no specific cover is uploaded.
  • Recurring Support (allowRecurringEvents): Allows organizers to create repeating sessions (e.g., every Monday).
  • Max Sessions (maxSessionsPerCreate): Limits how many sessions can be generated in a single creation batch (default is usually 52, representing one year of weekly events).
  • Allowed Event Types (eventTypes): Restrict event creation to specific formats (PHYSICAL, VIRTUAL, HYBRID).

2. Component Management​

Manage the layout and requirements of the event creation form.

  • Toggle visibility and requirement for fields like Banner Generator, Rules, Capacity, Date, Duration, and Location.

3. Capacity and Price Limits​

  • Price Limits: Define the Minimum Price and Maximum Price for tickets.
  • Capacity Limits: Set the Minimum Capacity and Maximum Capacity to prevent overbooking or non-viable events.

4. Financial Configuration (Commission)​

Set standard commission rates for ticket sales.

  • Configurable Default, Minimum, and Maximum rates.
  • Custom Allowance: Allows setting specific commission rates per organizer.

5. Role-Based Visibility​

Configure which event form fields are visible to different roles, and attach custom help text/descriptions to specific fields for organizers.

[!TIP] Event settings define the organizational structure. Session limits and organizer approvals are critical for maintaining platform integrity. Infrastructure changes here will not disrupt currently ongoing sessions.

Common Issues​

  • Issue: Organizers cannot create a weekly event spanning the entire year.
  • Solution: Check the Max Sessions limit under General Settings. If it's set too low, they won't be able to generate the required number of recurring sessions.
