News
Menu Path: Contents > News
The News module is structurally identical to the Blog module but serves a fundamentally different purpose on your frontend. It is intended for corporate announcements, official press releases, event highlights, and timely company updates.
Separating News from the Blog allows you to:
- Maintain completely different visual layouts on the frontend (e.g., a formal, list-based press room vs. a highly visual, grid-based blog).
- Segment your SEO strategies and XML sitemaps.
- Manage different author permissions (e.g., PR team manages News, Content team manages Blog).
Creating a News Announcement
The workflow for publishing a news piece is the same as writing a blog post.
- Navigate to Contents > News.
- Click "Add New".
- Fill out the properties:
1. Basic Info
- Title: The headline of the press release.
- Status: You can prepare press releases in advance as Drafts and set them to Published right when the news embargo lifts.
- Category: Categorize news items (e.g., "Press Releases", "Company Updates", "In the Media").
- Slug: The URL structure.
- Abstract: A brief executive summary of the announcement.
2. Media
- Featured Image: The primary image (like a company logo or an event photo) representing the news.
- Gallery: Upload additional media, such as event coverage photos or product launch shots.
3. Content (Rich Text)
- The body of your press release. Use the editor to format your text, insert quotes from executives, and provide detailed corporate updates.
4. SEO
- Optimize the news piece so journalists and stakeholders can easily find your announcements on Google.
- Click "Save" to instantly publish your news to the dedicated Press/News section of your platform.
