Permission and Plan Requirements

To use this feature, you must have the Workspace:Settings:View permission and the MARKETPLACE plan.

Penalty Settings is the section where you manage the financial restrictions and penalties that the system will automatically apply in the event of rule violations by merchants on your platform.

Key Features & Configuration

1. Enforcement Policy (Hierarchy)

  • Merchant Penalty System (merchantPenalty): When you activate the penalty system, restrictions are automatically applied to parties violating rules. When the system is passive, no enforcement is executed.

2. Rule and Penalty Configurations

You can create independent penalty rules for each type of violation. When rules are activated, they take effect with various calculation types (Fixed, Percentage, Progressive).

Supported Violation Reasons:

  • LATE_SHIPMENT
  • OUT_OF_STOCK
  • SELLER_CANCELLATION
  • WRONG_ITEM_SENT
  • WRONG_QUANTITY
  • DAMAGED_ITEM
  • FAKE_ITEM
  • WRONG_PRICE
  • OVERCAPACITY
  • VIOLATION_POLICY
  • CUSTOMER_COMPLAINT_UPHELD
  • NO_RESPONSE_SUPPORT

Penalty Calculation Types:

  1. FIXED: A clear fixed amount (e.g., $50) is deducted per violation.
  2. PERCENTAGE: A specific percentage (e.g., 10%) of the order or product amount subject to the violation is deducted. Additionally, a Minimum Penalty Amount (minAmount) can be set.
  3. PROGRESSIVE: Designed for penalties that increase as delays occur. The penalty amount can be progressively increased for Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and each subsequent day.

[!WARNING] When the penalty system is activated, restrictions for violating parties are automatically deducted from their payouts (transaction balances). Retroactive penalties are not applied while the system is inactive.

Common Issues

  • Issue: The penalty amount is not deducted from the merchant's payout.
  • Solution: Check whether the merchant's balance for the relevant order is higher than the penalty amount. Also, ensure the general penalty system (merchant.isActive) is enabled.
