Penalties

Menu Path: Finance & Logistics > Penalties

The Penalties module is primarily used in Marketplace models where Platform Administrators need to enforce rules and maintain quality standards among Merchants.

What is a Penalty?

A penalty is an administrative fine levied against a merchant for violating platform policies. Examples include:

  • Shipping an order 3 days late.
  • Selling counterfeit goods.
  • High customer dispute rates.

When a penalty is applied, it creates a specific PENALTY transaction on the Merchant's ledger. This amount is automatically deducted from the merchant's Withdrawable Balance in their Wallet.

Issuing a Penalty

  1. Navigate to Finance & Logistics > Penalties.
  2. Click "Add New" to issue a fine.
  3. Select Merchant: Choose the offending merchant from the list.
  4. Amount: Enter the exact monetary value of the fine.
  5. Reason: Provide a clear, detailed explanation. This reason is visible to the merchant in their Wallet dashboard.
  6. Related Order (Optional): If the fine is tied to a specific botched delivery, link the Order ID here for reference.
  7. Click "Save". The system immediately debits the merchant's wallet.
