Penalties
Menu Path: Finance & Logistics > Penalties
The Penalties module is primarily used in Marketplace models where Platform Administrators need to enforce rules and maintain quality standards among Merchants.
What is a Penalty?
A penalty is an administrative fine levied against a merchant for violating platform policies. Examples include:
- Shipping an order 3 days late.
- Selling counterfeit goods.
- High customer dispute rates.
When a penalty is applied, it creates a specific PENALTY transaction on the Merchant's ledger. This amount is automatically deducted from the merchant's Withdrawable Balance in their Wallet.
Issuing a Penalty
- Navigate to Finance & Logistics > Penalties.
- Click "Add New" to issue a fine.
- Select Merchant: Choose the offending merchant from the list.
- Amount: Enter the exact monetary value of the fine.
- Reason: Provide a clear, detailed explanation. This reason is visible to the merchant in their Wallet dashboard.
- Related Order (Optional): If the fine is tied to a specific botched delivery, link the Order ID here for reference.
- Click "Save". The system immediately debits the merchant's wallet.
